SAINT LAZAR'S TADPOLE (TAD)

Now that Tad has his first shots, we are letting him outside a bit, which he loves. Sunday afternoon, 3/23/25, my boy, Martin, and I, finally finished our solar panel installation. Martin did a great job with project, there is not much he can't do. Tad followed him as he went to wash the panels off, and the above is the result. I think the sun rises and sets on this little guy, we are so grateful for him Heavenly Father!
As I mention in the above video, i keep a camera(s) on hand in the house just to capture moments like these. I have invested in Canon equipment over the years, and I have several, but mostly I use my Canon R7, which is a fantastic camera for the price. I pretty much use the "clog3" setting, and tweak it with Filmora 14 video editor for titles, voice over, etc.
Lady Grey, the "housecat" plays regularly with Solo and Baxter. She now will play with Tad and is pretty gentle with him, I am so pleased with how Tad has matured, he was so premature. It's going to be difficult to part with him!
We now have a super home for Tad with a family that has had a number of Saint Lazar dogs for about thirty years. Thank you LORD!
Seri with 2 boys on 12/24/25 at age 12 hours. Tad is the boy tucked under her leg. The brother would not take any milk and he just faded away about 4 hours later, too premature. The collar on Seri is to protect her surgical incision. This is the "hard" part of being a breeder.
The above is Esther cleaning Tad. She is a very jealous house dog, and I am constantly reminded that female dogs are called "Bitches" for good reason (joke). Esther jumped up in Carol's lap and started cleaning him just as if he was her own. She did this for a couple of weeks. This is January 20, 2025, and Tad has had his eyes open for a bit over a week. She got great credit for doing this sweet task. We do love her!
Little Tad never had any time with his mother, Seri, she did not have adequate milk. I feed him with a syringe at first, then a baby bottle from Walmart. Since he did not have a mother to keep him clean. No matter, between Carol and I, we kept him clean as a whistle. To our surprise, Esther jumped up on Carol's lap and began to clean him, see previous video. Thank you, LORD!
I was getting ready to roll Tad's bassinette to the kitchen, where he stays during the day, when I picked up my iPhone and made the clip above on 2/11/25. I am posting this on 3/12/25, and I am so pleased with his growth and maturity a month later. He is quite smart for such a youngster, and I just set up his cage on the floor with a small kennel for him to retire in. A video on this will come.
We kept Tad in our bedroom for quite a while because I was getting up nights about every 3 hours to feed him. Same schedule during the day. But by February 13th it was obvious he was ready to be where his "people" mostly congregated. He took to this like a duck to water, and he pretty much remains the center of attention, and the socialization has been great for him. There are several good views of Solo, who has matured into a magnificent Manchester Terrier. He is probably better than any of the 311 AKC Champions we have been blessed with. Thank you again LORD!
Tad in his cage on February 24, 2025, two months old this day. Notice how his ears have grown, and his overall growth. He is now eating dry Victor High Pro Plus all age food. Our pups have thrived on this food for the past 4 years or so, as he is now doing.
Tad is maturing fast now that he is scarfing down Victor High Pro Plus, and he loves playing with Solo, Baxter, and Lady Grey (cat). I watch them closely, but he rarely squawks. But as you will notice, he is a "Terrier" and he goes after them when necessary. For well over 75 years, I have been watching Manchester puppies, and I never tire of them. I have in the drawer next to me, a letter in 80's from my Dad, relating the story of the acquisition of our first Manchester in 1940. My mother was pregnant with me at the time. 84 years of pleasing the Walker's!
